Whoa – do I even exist in 2008?

Tomorrow (okay – later today) I have to return to work, the whole waking up early thing and (gulp) my regular routine. Frankly, I’m a little scared. For more than a week I’ve kept my own freakishly late and lazy schedule and it’s been glorious - and as usual, it felt like it would never end.

But, here we are. Sigh.

I hope everyone’s holiday was as crazy, peaceful, fun, hilarious, insanely busy, unfairly relaxing, mind numbing, stimulating etc… as mine was.

The week before Christmas, Lars was admitted into the hospital with severe anemia due to an extreme B-12 deficiency, most likely a side effect of the stomach ulcer medicine he was prescribed for gastritis last summer. Of course, his doctors haven’t admitted that yet- but, all research and common sense point in Protonix’s direction. Fucking drug company reps and lobbyists and the dirty, filthy American health care industry. A pox on all your vacation houses, doctors for not just admitting that shit.

I really want to share the entire hospital story in gruesome, horrifying detail, but I’m too tired, so for now just know that after a week of B12 shots and constant medical supervision, Lars is feeling great! He has another follow up appointment tomorrow and if all of the blood work comes back showing improvement – then we can finally relax about the whole thing – and of course, plan our multi-zillion dollar class action law suit against the Protonix folks.

Christmas was beyond fun and I got everything I ever wanted – most of all I got my best friend back from the land of the almost dead. There’s really nothing like almost losing your sweetheart – to give you a little more perspective on what really matters most.

Wow – and now it’s 2008 and it’s wigging me out y’all.
